ASRA Uganda

The 2022 ASRA - Action Summit for Regenerative Agriculture in Mpigi, Uganda has concluded as a resounding success. Attended by more than 130 local farmers, cooperatives, and NGO representatives, the first steps have been taken towards realizing agroforestry’s potential in this region of Uganda. This three day action-summit combined community and network building aspects of a traditional summit with hard skills training in regenerative principles and practical agroforestry.

Regenerative Agriculture Business Game

Through an educational game, we raise awareness for the transition towards regenerative agriculture practices. The game educates present and future leaders about the ongoing paradigm shift. They learn to deal with complexity and system thinking. It also introduces participants to the connection and relationship with nature and land.

Demonstration Space and Commercial Agroforestry Farm: Abuja, Nigeria

From 2018 - 2021, Tari has established and co-managed two agroforestry demonstration spaces and a commercial agroforestry farm in Kaduna, Nigeria, extending over 20 hectares.

Commercial Farm in collaboration with AMFRI Farms

The project is to implement a 5-hectare agroforestry pilot in collaboration with Amfri Farms. This pilot is the first phase of a larger project that will be developed as the different stages of expansion are carried out. We will keep you informed of our progress.

ASRA India

Building on the success of the ASRA model in East Africa, Tari is working with on-ground partners in India to host the first of many community-training events and establish “Lighthouse” model farms in this new region.

Agroforestry at Kyaka Refugee Camp

Currently in discussion with representatives from UNHCR and members of local community councils, Tari is working in continued partnership with the Social Innovation Academy to develop an agroforestry model that can balance the shorter-term nutritional and income needs of displaced people with the longer-term interests of the communities who host them.

Regenerative United Network: RUN

Emergent from ASRA Mpigi was the need for a sharing and exchange platform to connect the diverse initiatives working across Uganda. In addition to a knowledge sharing and event coordinating platform, RUN will also support the collective development of regenerative infrastructure such as seed banks, tree nurseries, and processing equipment.
